Laurence Sheldon II - Re-recording Mixer / CEO

Re-recording mixer, composer, audio editor, educator and consultant, Laurence has been the driving force behind the company since it started in 1997 as Big Ear Audio. Laurence has maintained a position on the cutting edge of technology in the Southern California post production industry. He is currently developing new tools and technologies to schedule and record sessions, receive raw materials and deliver product over secure ISDN and broadband connections, pioneering a complete internet-based post production workflow.

As a senior re-recording mixer and audio supervisor with E! Entertainment Television of Hollywood, CA, his work included True Hollywood Stories, Mysteries and Scandals, Celebrity Profiles, Wild On and On-Air Promotions. For seven years Laurence taught “Technologies for Music and Post Production” in the UCLA Entertainment Studies Program. He was responsible for curriculum, presentation and instruction of the course offered through the UCLA Extension Program.

Laurence has also assisted technical projects with musical greats including Quincy Jones, Billy Preston and Ray Manzarek of The Doors. Among his film experiences are various projects with Miramax and with Quentin Tarantino’s “Jackie Brown”. When the famed director wanted to set up shop for the Post Production of his film, Laurence was called in to help oversee its success. Utilizing his creative talents combined with technical skills led to Laurence’s involvement on projects with the Fox Family Channel and USA Networks. He served as studio consultant to New Media Hollywood, Inc. in the integration and design of digital solutions for Post Production. He also provided digital audio expertise to West L.A. Music for the creation of digital audio workstations for Post Production, music composition and the gaming industry.

Bob Grey - Re-recording Mixer / CFO

Bob has been a re-recording mixer in Hollywood since 1997 working primarily on first run theatrical trailers and promos. As re-recording mixer for Picture Head in Hollywood, Bob designed sounds for and mixed TV spots, DVD and International and Domestic Movie Trailers, Teasers and Radio Spots. He edited music, sound effects, dialog and voice overs on ProTools, utilizing the ProControl and Icon work surfaces.

Bob primarily concentrated on first run Theatrical Television spots for all the Disney movie releases. Some of the of TV spots he mixed at Picture Head include “The Greatest Game”, “The Pacifier”, “The Chronicles of Narnia”, “War of the Worlds”, “Chicken Little”, “Cars” and “Pirates of the Caribbean 2”.

Bob also has worked for New Wave Entertainment. Some of his work there included “Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King”, “Master and Commander”, “Cheaper by the Dozen”, “Stuck on You”, “Welcome to Mooseport”, “King Arthur”, “The Village”, “The Incredibles”, “I Robot” and “Ladder 49”.

Prior to New Wave Entertainment Bob worked for Aspect Ratio and the Cimarron Group. Bob received 5 Key Art awards while working at Aspect Ratio and The Cimarron Group. His experience also includes Fox TV where he worked in Area 21, the “branding” area, designing sounds and mixing On-Air promotion spots, including prime time promos for “the Simpsons”, “Ally McBeal”, “America’s Most Wanted” and the “X-Files”. He received 4 Promax awards for mixing at FOX.

Prior to Bob’s involvement in the Post Production Industry he founded Greytsounds Sound Development in 1989. As sound developer and product manager Bob led the company to create 3rd party CD ROMs for Digidesign Sample Cell cards. He also was first in creating a CD ROM library for the Kurzweil K2000 keyboards. He has created CD ROMs for virtually every platform in the MI industry, including work for AKAI, Digidesign, Emu, Ensoniq, Kurzweil, Peavey and Roland. The company specializes in digital samples and synthesizer patches for many of the popular digital samplers and sampling keyboards on the market today.

Bob has designed custom sounds and samples for Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart; Dave Mason; Stephen Stills; Gabriel Katona (Starship); David Kahne (CBS Records); Gary Malliber (Steve Miller Band), Jason Bonham, Julian Lennon, Mark Hart and Richard Davies (Supertramp), the Commodores, 'Weird' Al Yankovic, Coverdale/Page, David Lee Roth and Gorky Park. He has received several gold and platinum record awards resulting from his sound design work.

Jeff Sliney - Re-recording Mixer / COO

Since 1995, Jeff has been in charge of Sound Supervision at Aspect Ratio, one of Hollywood’s top Trailer houses. Working in both domains of film and television delivering first run Theatrical Trailers and TV Spots on budget and before deadline. Jeff has completed hundreds of motion picture advertising projects while working creatively with people such as Tim Burton, Cameron Crowe, Curtis Hanson, Paula Wagner, and McG and continues to maintain a ten year editing/mixing relationship with Lucasfilm Ltd. In this capacity, he is working on campaigns to promote the Star Wars franchise including feature films, DVDs, and gaming products.

Award winning Sound Designer Michael Kross, formerly the senior recording engineer at E! Entertainment Networks. Michael is an instrumental part of this already established team of accomplished engineers, sound designers and musicians. His ability to seamlessly blend music, natural sound and sound design has won him numerous Pro Max Awards, as well as being featured in Pro Sound News and Post Magazine for his sound design skills.
